Summer Aid for Educational Opportunity Program Students
Financial aid for new EOP students attending the 2012 Summer Session may include:
-
Federal Pell Grant (maximum summer eligibility = $1338)
-
Federal Stafford Loan (maximum summer eligibility = $2750)
To apply for the Pell Grant and/or Stafford loan for summer 2012, EOP students must complete a 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov . Students are advised to submit the 2011-2012 FAFSA to the processor by May 1, 2012 to allow ample time for processing; however, the FAFSA application will be accepted through June 30, 2012. When a student completes the FAFSA, he should list Lock Haven University of PA (Federal School Code 003323) as his school. This will ensure that Student Financial Services receives the results of the application. The student will then be sent a financial aid award letter to inform him of his summer financial aid eligibility.
As long as an EOP student submits the 2011-12 FAFSA, s/he will automatically qualifty for a Federal Direct Stafford Loan. The maximum loan amount an EOP student may receive for the 2012 Summer Session is $2750.00. The amount he receives will depend upon several factors, including his educational expenses and other financial aid. The student will be notified of the loan amount approved.
Please Note:
EOP students must also complete a 2012-2013 FAFSA to apply for financial aid for the 2012-2013 academic year. We recommend that students complete this FAFSA by March 15, 2012; however, the 2012-2013 FAFSA can also be submitted after that date.
