Enrollment Certification

Chapter 31 - VA's Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E)

Once you have submitted all required documents to the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and you have been determined to be eligible for assistance, the DVA will ask the VA Certifying Official to verify your enrollment.

If your enrollment status changes (e.g. drop from full- to part-time) or you completely withdraw or decide not to attend a semester, notify the Student Financial Services Office immediately.

All Other Chapters

Once you have submitted all required documents to the Student Financial Services Office, the VA Certifying Official will verify your enrollment to the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).  When the DVA approves your claim, you will receive a letter with details of your benefits.

If your enrollment status changes (e.g. drop from full- to part-time) or you completely withdraw or decide not to attend a semester, notify the Student Financial Services Office immediately.

Chapter 31 - VA's Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E)

You may check the status of your application by calling the DVA at 1-800-827-1000.

All Other Chapters

You may check the status of your application by calling the DVA at 1-888-GIBILL 1 (1-888-442-4551), e-mailing the DVA at buffrpo@VBA.va.gov, or by using the “Ask a Question” feature on the DVA website at www.gibill.va.gov

Payment Information

Pay Rates

Current pay rates for VA Education Benefits are available at  www.gibill.va.gov.  The rates are subject to change every October 1, as approved by the federal government.

The amount of your VA Education Benefits will be based on the type of benefit you are eligible for, the number or credit hours for which you're enrolled, and the current pay rates.

Verification of Enrollment

All Chapter 30, Chapter 1606, and Chapter 1607 beneficiaries (i.e. veterans, reservists, and guardsmen who receive GI Bill benefits) must verify their enrollment each month to ensure continued payment of benefits. Enrollment may be verified via either touch-tone telephone at 1-877-823-2378 (toll free) or the DVA's web site at www.gibill.va.gov - follow the link to the Web Automated Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) program. If your enrollment has changed during the month, you must verify your enrollment through the WAVE program.

Please note that, using either the phone or WAVE method, students will verify the prior month's enrollment.  For example, on or after August 31, 2008 a GI Bill recipient will verify August 2008 enrollment.  Students who need assistance should call the VA toll free at 1-888-GIBILL1.
