LHU Cross Country Run-A-Thon

September 28th, 2008

The LHU Cross Country and Track & Field Teams will be holding their annual Run-A-Thon at Hubert Jack Stadium on Sunday, September 28th from 8-10pm. Over the last five years, the teams have raised over $3000 to contribute to the Clinton County Chapter of The Second Mile program. This year, the teams have decided to contribute a portion of the funds raised to help out one of their own. Over the summer, track and field athlete and resident hall assistant Brian Keefer fractured two vertebrae in his neck in a gymnastics accident. A long and triple jumper on last year's Bald Eagle team, he remains in the hospital in Philadelphia, having only regained feeling into his shoulders. Helping one of their teammates pay for expensive hospital and rehabilitation bills has given the teams added motivation to raise funds. Anyone wishing to contribute may do so by contacting Head Coach Aaron Russell at ARUSSELL@LHUP.EDU or 570-916-5716.
