Two day road trip to DC.
Meet at Ulmer Parking lot in the wee hours on Saturday morning.
Washington Monument - Evidence that we really were in DC.
And here is the primary reason we came to DC - to worship the monuments.
Yes we actually met him. This is him. Really.
He was just hanging out. Friendly guy. Doesn't move much, though.
Hanging out outside the Museum of Science & Aerospace
Big decision - where to eat dinner.
Quote of the day from Joe: "I only like Italian food and regular food."
The best dinner group - Group A. We make excellent choices in
restaurants and menu items. We decided to go to a Spanish restaurant.
We shared 10 tapas. We had scallops, salmon, shrimp, calamari, sea bass,
various salamis, various olives, eggplant, rice, and lots of other stuff.
And if that wasn't enough we capped dinner off with yummy desserts. We left
stuffed and happy.
Monmuments - Lots of 'um John stands proud before one of his political heros - Stephen Colbert
We walked over 15 miles in two days. Here's what everyone else did.
Lots of subway rides with tired subway riders.
A great end to a great trip. We spent an hour or two at Lax's. Andy
plays guitar hero with Lax's son.
We hit lots of museums. Science and Aerospace, Natural History, American History, National Archives,
Portrait Museum, etc. We were there for part of Earth Day Festivities. Lots of good talk about science. Matt, Christine and
Carolyn sat on the floor of the Science Museum and talked relativity. Levi tried out rides on a new eco-bike. Many explored the
gems in the Natural History Museum. We talked about the structure of the monuments. The fading of the documents. All kinds of
science was had by all.
