Getting Ready for the show.

Audience Images

Ray and Tim throw an object through the air that has a center-of-mass that is off-center. The object moves in a weird way when thrown. It rotates around the off-center bullseye pattern painted on its surface.

Ray (with help from Tim and John) how objects with an off-center center-of-mass can move up an incline.

Leslie demonstrate Bernouli's principle.

Leslie demonstrates turbulence with a flowing film of soap. Here he is seen with curious audience members after the show.

Dan pulls off an old favorite - the table cloth trick.

Tim and John demonstrate the compression strength of rolled up pieces of paper by standing on top of them!!!!!

Tim and John demonstrate tensile strength of a single piece of paper by hanging over 70 pounds from one sheet!!!

Tim and Ray demonstrate the percussion centers of a stick.

Jim (with help from Anura and Leslie) demonstrates powerful use of air pressure. In the second to last image, a ping pong ball blasts through a thick piece of cardboard. In the last image, Jim shows confidence in his understanding of physics.

Jim demonstrates the inertia of 4 eggs as he knocks a pan out from under them so they fall into 4 beakers.

John demonstrates the principle of inertia by wearing two large masses on his head and moving around.

Dan shows how an object attached to a pivot falls faster than an obect falling straight down.

The ever-popular hovercraft. Even Dean Johnson gets a ride.

Jim sits on a bed-of-nails.

John uses air pressure to help him break a stick underneath a newspaper.

Anura shows how a pendulum with two lengths still conserves energy.

Tim and Ray demonstrate the odd behavior of a Hoberman Sphere. With the slightest rotational motions it quickly opens up to large sphere.

Ray and Tim stack a bunch of boards on the edge of a table. The stack looks like it should topple onto Tim's head, but as long as the center-of-mass remains over the table the stack will not fall.

John rests a glass on a board and swings it around his head over the audience demonstrating his confidence in his understanding of circular motion.

Anura demonstrates how gravitational energy is converted into rotational energy with his giant yoyo.

At the end of the show door prizes are given out by our special unbiased name selector, Christopher (held by mom, Nicole). Christopher had a hard time selecting just one person and has a hard time letting go of his selections.
