PURPOSE
The Geoscience Minor provides students interested in the earth sciences an opportunity to pursue their studies in a logical and academically sound fashion. A wide variety of geoscience subjects are available and students may select courses in line with their specific academic and career goals.

REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 21 semester hours (sh) are required to complete the minor.  Both Principles of Geology I(taught in both Fall and Spring) and Principles of Geology II (taught in Spring only), 3 sh each, are required and should be taken before beginning any of the GEOS courses (listed below) above the 100 level.
Note: Students are required to select a minimum of 6 sh of courses at the 300 level or above to qualify for a Geology Minor.  Faculty members listed below serve as advisors for this minor.

RECOMMENDATION
In addition to the required 21 semester hours of GEOS courses, at least 3 semester hours of Geology Field Trips (GEOS 260) are strongly recommended.
