Graduate Admissions Information for International Students

     
 

Note: Because of Department of Homeland Security Regulations, international students will not be eligible for a student visa to participate in Lock Haven University's Online Graduate Programs. International students may receive a student visa to enroll in the Master of Health Science Physician Assistant Program.

In addition to the standard admissions procedures for graduate admission to Lock Haven University
(Click Here to Review Admissions Procedures) , international students who are not native speakers of English and have completed their undergraduate degree outside of the United States must submit the following:

Academic Transcripts:
A certified (official) copy of all educational credentials (transcripts) from any secondary or post secondary institutions must be submitted. A certified literal translation must be submitted with all documents (See Educational Credential Evaluation Information Below).

Language Testing:
All non-native speakers of English are required to complete and submit either the TOEFL or the IELTS.

TOEFL: 
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) administered by the Education Testing Service. A minimum score of 213 (computer-based), 79-80 (internet-based) or 550 (paper-based) is required for admission to Lock Haven University graduate programs.

IELTS:
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scoring minimu of 5.5 is required for admission to Lock Haven University graduate programs.

Educational Credential Evaluation:
All students who apply for admission to Lock Haven University with transcripts from a foreign secondary or post-secondary educational institution are required to submit an official educational credential evaluation. We recommend the company World Education Services, Inc. (WES) for this service.
