Alpha Sigma Phi

Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity is one of the nations oldest Fraternities, established December 6, 1845 at Yale College in New Haven, CT. Boasting over 100 chapters throughout its history, Alpha Sigma Phi has produced various famous alumni. Most notable alumni are Warren Buffet, Ted Cassidy, Vincent Price, C. Everett Koop, Jon Mittelhauser, Willard Scott, Ratan Tata and Tom Watson. Currently the Fraternity has 68 active chapters, colonies and interest groups.

The Fraternity practices many traditions. Their Latin motto is "Causa Latet Vis Est Notissima", or "The Cause is hidden, the results well known." The fraternity's official symbol is the phoenix, as the phoenix rises from the ashes of its old body, signifying the refounding of the Fraternity in the early 1900's. Due to active expansion efforts Alpha Sigma Phi continues to offer services and opportunities to over 2,000 undergraduate students and 40,000 living alumni.

Locally, Alpha Sigma Phi is represented as the Delta Nu Chapter, founded on November 21st, 1987. The chapter prides themselves on the vast amount of community service accomplished, along with being a very eclectic mix of individuals. The chapter has brothers that major in nearly every aspect of the University's education system. Since the local founding the brotherhood has initiated over 230 brothers into the chapter. Living by the values of Silence, Charity, Honor, Purity, Patriotism, the brothers lead themselves "To Better the Man" through many educational and recruitment events.
