The CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Education Program at Lock Haven University is a major within the Department of Health Science.  Graduates of the program are highly educated healthcare professionals who are able to directly enter the workforce or graduate school upon program competion. The program educates its students through the combination of classroom course work and clinical experiences. Lock Haven athletic training students have the opportunity to work with high quality faculty and clinical instructors in state of the art classroom and clinical settings.

Program Accreditation 
The Lock Haven University Athletic Training Education Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program was started in the mid-1970s and received initial accreditation in 1977. Since that time the program has grown from one faculty member and eight students to six faculty and over forty students. 
The program will next be reviewed for continuing accreditation during the 2012-2013 academic year.
