Bachelor of Science Health Science
This program includes a strong foundation of natural science courses combined with human sciences, unique advanced courses and practical / clinical experiences.

Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training ( view program track )
Admission into this option is highly competitive, requiring pre-requisite courses with satisfactory GPA, written and practical entrance exams and interview with the selection committee in your sophomore year. Once enrolled, you will complete clinical experiences under the supervision of a certified athletic trainer. (2)A unique course sequence allows athletic training students to learn and develop skill in the classroom and then immediately apply those skills in the clinical setting. Upon graduation you are eligible to take the BOC exam and obtain individual state certifications and licensure. Those who are not accepted into the Athletic Training Education Program have other options for continuing study - all of which are listed in the University catalog.

Bachelor of Science – Applied Health Studies Track (view program track)
The Applied Health Studies Track is a degree completion program for individuals who are certified, licensed, or registered in a healthcare profession. These individuals will have graduated from an accredited healthcare program (i.e. medical radiography, occupational therapy assistant, surgical technology, etc.) and have earned an associate’s degree. The purpose of the Applied Health Studies track is to prepare the student to grow as a professional and assume a position in healthcare leadership.

The community Health program at LHU provides the courses necessary to implement health education in a variety of settings. Coursework develops skills in the areas of health planning, implementation, evaluation, communication and advocacy. Field experiences provide opportunities to practice the knowledge and skills attained in class. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the national certification exam to be credentialed as a Certified Health Education specialist.

Pre-Physician Assistant Track (view program track )
Students attending LHU's health science program in the pre-physician assistant track will spend four years in courses in the biological and health science areas. You will participate in the challenging undergraduate curriculum designed to facilitate your success in admission to and graduation from a Master's level physician assistant program.

The department also has a special Pre-Physician Assistant Track 3+2 articulation (view program track) with LHUP's Master's in Physician Assistant Studies. Please contact an admissions counselor for additional information for this special admission program.

Pre-Professional Track ( view program track )
Few academic program majors offer such diverse opportunities after graduation as the Pre-Professional option. You will receive the prerequisite courses and field experience necessary for admission and successful completion of a Master's degree in an area of your choice. You and your advisor will develop an individualized range of study focused upon your own specific goals and professional aspirations. Additional coursework required to meet graduate program entry requirements can be chosen as electives. In this regard, students should meet with their advisors to make their career intentions known early in their program of study. Field experience related to your intended career area, like working in local clinics or observing surgery at a local hospital, will give you valuable hands-on experience which you can then apply upon graduation

The purpose of the Health Science/Pre-PT Track is to prepare students to enter graduate studies within the field of Physical Therapy.
