Meet Dr. Mohamed Khalequzzaman
Professional interests and activities: My interests include water resources, land use practices and environmental quality, and coastal oceanography. HONR159 Earth Resources and Environment This inquiry-based introductory-level course is designed to explore occurrences, distribution, and uses of Earth resources, including minerals, rocks, soil, energy, and water. Environmental degradation resulting from exploration and exploitation of Earth resources will be investigated in the context of historical development in central Pennsylvania. The concept of sustainable development of natural resources and land will be examined through lecture, laboratory exercises, field observations, and hands on experience with field and laboratory equipment commonly used by geoscientists. Personal interests and activities: Camping, hiking, reading about world affairs and cultures. I am very involved with citizen-based watershed associations in Beech Creek, Sugar valley, and Nippenose Valley. I am also involved in environmental initiatives in Bangladesh – my native country.
