Meet Dr. Robert Myers

Education:

Penn State for BA, MA, PhD

Years at Lock Haven University:

2 temp at Clearfield campus (1992-94)

since 1999 at LHU (tenured).

Professional interests and activities:

My research interest is American literature, especially literature published after the Civil War.  In addition to a biography of the late nineteenth-century author Harold Frederic (Reluctant Expatriate, Greenwood Press, 1995), I have delivered conference papers and published articles on authors who wrote in this period.

HONR112 Compositions and Literature & ENGL110 Dimensions of Literature (FYE)

I see the honors courses as an opportunity to explore ideas and readings that are more challenging than those that I might include in other courses.

Personal interests and activities:

I'm interested in running, the movies of the Coen brothers ("O Brother, Where Art Thou?" "The Man Who Wasn't There"), the battle of Gettysburg (I'm trying to visit all 1000 monuments on the battlefield this summer), and the Simpsons.
