LHU Honors Program
The University Honors Program provides students and faculty opportunities for
creative intellectual engagement through a mix of special curricular and
co-curricular opportunities. Students may apply for entry as a first-year
freshman or after completing 1-4 semesters of college-level work. Entry as a
first-year freshman may be either directly into the University Honors or through
the First Year Excellence Program.
Students successfully completing the First Year Excellence Program receive
certificate recognition. Students completing the University Honors Program
receive recognition on their transcript, on their diploma and at commencement.
Students in both the First Year Excellence
and University Honors programs must participate in co-curricular activities and
community service in addition to their curriculum. Engaging activity groups and
Speaker Series allow students in the Honors Program to bond together and learn
from each other, creating a community of both friends and scholars.
