THE LHU GLOBAL HONORS PROGRAM
COURSE AUGMENTATION PROPOSAL
Students in the Global Honors Program may earn three honors credits while taking a non-honors course by completing an individual project. Projects should have a direct bearing on the subject matter being addressed in the course and the professor of the course must agree to supervise the project. Projects might involve expanding a required assignment by going into greater detail or depth. Or, they might involve the exploration of a question or topic that others in the course are not required to address. In addition, projects may take a variety of forms. Some might be works of art or creative performances. Others might be grounded in experiential learning or organized around field or laboratory research. And, of course, some might also take the form of traditional research papers. Ideally, all projects should involve a significant writing component. Regardless of the nature of the project, however, it is the student’s responsibility to generate the idea for his or her project and to carry it to completion. Prior to beginning a project, it is also the student’s responsibility to complete this form, gather the required signatures and submit it to the Director of the Global Honors Program for approval.
