It’s Great to Have You
in the Lock Haven University Global Honors Program!
The
first thing I’d like to do is welcome you to truly one
of the best honors programs in the country. As one of
the few programs that is student-led and provides
co-curricular activities, our main focus is to emphasize
a tight-knit community of students as well as academic
achievement.
As a member of the program, feel free to
browse our website to learn about requirements, events,
and special opportunities. If you’d like to become more
involved in the program, think about joining Freshmen
Discussion Group Leader Training, applying to lead an
Activity Group, or joining one of our many special teams
to work on Public Issues Forums or the Occasional Word,
our honors newsletter.
Allow me to tell you a little about
myself. Now in my second year as a Student Associate
Director, I wasn’t always as enthusiastic about the
program as I am now. In fact, my parents all but begged
me to fill out the application. With few expectations of
myself to get involved, I eventually became a Freshman
Discussion Group Leader and from there I was hooked.
Since then, the program has not only sent me to places
like Annapolis, San Antonio, Brussels, Amsterdam, and
Paris, but it’s provided probably the best leadership
experience that I could have gotten while at LHU.
Looking back on where I started, I truly believe that
any student in the program can do the same and make the
most of out of their experience here.
With that being said, always keep in mind
the special opportunities that can be found on our
website. I guarantee that the more you get involved, the
more rewarding your college career will ultimately be.
