Professional Interests: North Atlantic immigration, especially emigration from Ulster, the counties of Northeast Ireland that became Northern Ireland. I am particularly interested in immigration from Scotland and Ulster into the Canadian Maritimes. From these interest I have developed a course in Northern Ireland, which is taught every summer.

Personal Interest: My outside interests include my wonderful family (Liza, Jack, Riley, and Callan), playing golf whenever possible, social card playing (poker, bouree, whist, and uno) and homebrewing. Personal Interest: Camping, hiking, reading about world affairs and cultures. I am involved with community-based watershed associations in Beech Creek, Sugar valley, and Nippenose Valley. I am also involved in environmental initiatives in Bangladesh – my native country.
