Student Associate Director of Program Development and Leadership - Sarah Filipski
Goals For Honors: My goal for Honors is to continue to provide our students with wonderful experiences that will open their eyes to new things, and also to make all students feel comfortable within the program.
Best Part About Being a Student Associate Director: My favorite thing about being a SAD is being more involved in the inner aspects of the Global Honors Program which I love!
Personal Interests: I love dancing, being outside in the sun, baking, laughing, and just having a good time.
Office Hours: Mon. and Wed. 12:30-5:00, Tues. and Thurs. 3:30-6:00, Friday 12:30-3:00
Student Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment- Shelli Bond
Major: English and Spanish
Goals for Honors: My goal is to manage a helpful and enthusiastic Admissions Team that will inspire prospective students to feel happy on the LHU campus and at home with the Global Honors Program. I want our program to be the reason students apply. We have so much to offer and I want the most deserving people to benefit from it.
Best Part of Being a Student Associate Director: I love meeting so many new people and teaching them all about a program that could so greatly impact the rest of their lives. I enjoy knowing that I have a hand in shaping that experience into one that is educational as well as very fun!
Personal Interests: I love writing, reading, dancing, singing, Great Danes, water towers, and more writing.
Office Hours: MWF 10-11, 3:30-5:30, Tues. and Thurs. 12-2
Secretary - Joanie Walker
Years at LHU: 9
Goals for Honors: My goals for the Global Honors Program are to help the program grow and maintain our retention.
Best Part About Being the Global Honors Secretary: Seeing the students grow into responsible adults who will be strong leaders and being a ‘mom’ away from home for the students.
Personal Interests: I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and taking walks with our dog, Max.
Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 8–12
Co-Student Associate Director of Communications and Special Events - Austin Theis
Major: Secondary Education - Social Studies
Goals for Honors: I want to continue to make all the events for the program fun and enjoyable for everyone in the Honors Program.
Best Part of Being an Honors Student Associate Director: I love all the activities that the Honors Program puts on. I love planning and setting them up even more than I love participating in them.
Personal Interests: Playing the banjo, Netflix, Cars, Music, Minecraft

Co-Student Associate Director of Communications and Special Events
- Paul Van Auken
Major: Secondary Education - Math
Goals for Honors: Mainly I want everyone, from freshmen to alumni, to enjoy, participate, and gain experience from all the opportunities provided by the program.
Best Part of Being an Honors Student Associate Director: Being an integral part of major decisions involving honors events and activities.
Personal Interests: Bowling, Singing, Dancing, Laughing, Mathematics, Tennis, Billiards, Watching Austin Play Minecraft
Office Hours: Monday 8-10, Tues. and Thurs. 10-2, Wednesday 4-5:30
Graduate Assistant- Andrew Moore
Degree: B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Environmental Studies. Graduated Magna Cum Laude in December, 2011.
Current Major: Working on Masters in Teaching
Excited about Being the Graduate Assistant: I am looking forward to learning more about the Global Honors Program as a Graduate Assistant and helping to further its cause through my work.
Personal Interests: Stargazing, geocaching, biking, hiking, archery and birding.
Office Hours: Monday 8-10, Tuesday 11-2, Wednesday 2-4, Thursday 11-2
