Director- Dr. Joseph McGinn

Department:
Department of Philosophy; Director Global Honors Program

Goals for Honors:
My main goal is to create a truly outstanding Global Honors Program – one that will provide curricular and co-curricular opportunities that will allow our students to acquire a truly sophisticated global perspective on themselves, their country and their world.

Best Part About Being the Global Honors Director:
The best part of directing this program is our students.  LHU Global Honors students are the best.  I love getting to know them, working with them and helping to facilitate opportunities for them during their tenure in our program.

Personal Interests: I love the outdoors.  In the summer I am an avid cyclist and kayaker.  In the winter I try to get out to ski hills near and far as often as possible.

Best Part About Being the Global Honors Secretary:
Seeing the students grow into responsible adults who will be strong leaders…PS  Being a ‘mom’ away from home for the students.

Personal Interests:  I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and taking walks with our dog - Max.

Office Hours:

Goals For Honors: I would love to see our website completely functional and convenient to use for all of our audiences. Also, I am excited to get our alumni more involved in the Global Honors Program again. I hope that we continue to grow, adapt to the ever changing campus and students within the program, and continue to challenge students to work harder, while preparing them with hands on experiences for the "real world".

Best Part About Being The Graduate Assistant:
I'm still here! I had the opportunity to graduate from the Global Honors Program, and now get to watch as it continues to evolve. It's awesome to still be a part of all that.

Personal Interests: Watching movies. Reading. Writing poetry. Drawing. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. Going to the beach or hiking through the woods. Making s'mores and mountain pies over a bonfire.
