Brent Barge (View my Blog)
Freshmen, Accounting Major
Hi,
my name is Brent Barge and I am from Enola, PA, which is
right near Harrisburg. I'm currently a freshman
accounting major, but I'm probably going to switch my
major to Mathematics Secondary Education with a minor in
Business. I have played soccer since I was 5 years old,
and also currently ref soccer and have coached soccer.
In high school, I was a 3 year varsity starter (a
goalkeeper), and senior year I was captain of my team.
My favorite soccer team is the Columbus Crew. I am also
a Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Orioles fan.
I
am a member of the Admission Team for the Global Honors
Program at Lock Haven, which is a great experience! I
also enjoy doing community service, and am a member of
Circle K here at Lock Haven. In high school, I served
as treasurer and later Presdient of my Key Club (which
is the high school form of Circle K). Some of my other
hobbies are hunting, fishing, hiking, watching NASCAR,
photography, and reading. My favorite place to go is
the mountains, which makes Lock Haven great a great
place for me!

Johnny Blough (View my Blog)
Senior, Secondary Education Social Studies and Political
Science Major
Greetings! My name
is Johnny Blough and I’m from Altoona, PA. I am
majoring
in Social Studies Secondary Education and minoring in
political
science and international studies. My focus on
global issues and studying
abroad was the primary reason
I joined the LHU Honors Program -- what I didn’t
estimate upon applying
was the plethora of opportunities
and friendships I would make here. As a senior at LHU, I
can look back
on a rather remarkable tenure in the
program. In three years, I have attended two regional
and national honors
conferences and spent over a month
in the People’s Republic of China as a PASSHE Summer
Honors
Scholar in 2008. I have led freshman discussion
groups, activity groups, and forums, as well as helping
out with the admissions team and open houses; you can
even find my artwork in every submission of the
Occasional Word. In addition to the aforementioned
activities, I am the United Nations Pathways Video
Conference Coordinator as well as the program’s
photographer.
My research in the
field of political science includes the effect of
structural adjustment policies on political
stability in
developing Latin American nations. In regard to
education, my capstone research examines the
correlation
between dropout rates and socioeconomic status of high
school students.
In my free time, I
enjoy photography, reading, traveling, geocaching, disc
golf, rock climbing, mountain biking,
amateur lepidoptology, (studying moths and butterflies) and
cooking delicious ethnic foods. In other words, I
enjoy
being a giant dork. Don’t be afraid to say hello if you
see me around the house!

McKee (View my Blog)
Junior, English Major, Writing Concentration
So...about me. I live in Williamsport, and commute in to
Lock Haven.
Although occasionally annoying, the commute isn't that
bad, really, and I love
living at home on the mountain.
We've got three retriever-type dogs of varying
breeds,
as well as a rather antisocial (perhaps understandably
so) cat. When
I'm not at home, in the mountains, or in
classes, I can usually be found in
the Writing Center at LHU. Come visit us for any of your writing needs!
I don't really have that
many separate hobbies or interests, preferring instead
to focus my energy on
those select few that I care about
the most, and put a lot of time into those. Chief among
these is my
independent game development group, Blood on
Binary. The team has been working steadily for over
four
years now to produce a fully operational 3d online game,
a goal which we continue to steadily
draw nearer and
nearer to. Other major interests include writing
fiction, playing the card game Magic:
The Gathering both
casually on campus and at some small local tournaments,
hiking, and studying
the effects of a
supernatural/mythological legacy on postmodern and
internet culture.

Pinckney (View my Blog)
Sophomore, English Major
Hey everyone. My name is Reginald Pinckney, though I
go by Reggie
most of the time. I’m currently a sophomore who is majoring in English and is
scheduled to graduate in 2012. My current place of
residence is in Gross Hall,
which isn’t a bad place to
live in. I was born in Bronx New York but moved to
Albrightsville Pennsylvania about six years ago before
finding my way to this
cozy little town of Lock Haven. I
may not smile a lot, but don't let my
serious expression
fool you, because once you get to know me, you'll find
me
smiling and laughing quite often.
My passions include reading paranormal romance novels
and writing poetry as well as fictional stories. I also
enjoy exploring the vast areas of nature and being
amongst the wild. I love going to the video game
activity
group every Friday afternoon as a way
of relieving my stress from the week. I’m also a part of
the Fencing Club,
in which I love to spend time letting
loose in some friendly competition. I regularly take
pleasure in showing
my passionate side in the Lyrically
Speaking group, where I go to recite some of my own
written poetry. And
just recently, I joined to English
Club, where I go to spend time with people who share my
similar interests in the
written arts. Finally, I work
for the Occasional Word in the Honors Program as a
writer, a job in which I am
very proud to be a part of.

Taylor Zimmerman (View my Blog)
Freshmen, Exploratory Studies Major with a minor in
Health Science
I am
from Lewistown which is in Mifflin County. Chances are
you have no idea
where that is because no one knows
where it is. Lewistown is a small town about
an hour
from Lock Haven which is fill with rednecks. Yes, I am
a redneck and I am
proud to admit it. However, I am not
a redneck all the time, I only return to my
redneck
nature when I go home. I have three older brothers and
no sisters. I am
the youngest in my family so it pretty
much stinks because I'm the baby girl with
three
protective brothers. I enjoy spending time with my
brothers and family. I like
all sports, but my
favorites are volleyball and football. I've always been athletic, I
participated in volleyball and track in high
school. I am also an avid outdoors woman.
I like to
fish and hunt with my father each fall. I also enjoy
camping and hiking in
the woods. I do have a girly
side though, I was a ballet and jazz dancer for about
eleven
years. Overall, I just enjoy spending time with
friends and family. It gives me a chance to relax after
a hectic week.
