The application process is really simple, so don’t be intimidated.  A completed application includes a coversheet (found on our website), a list of significant activities you have participated in, a brief essay, an application interview (conducted by a current student), and two letters of recommendation from your teachers.  That’s it! 

There are so many things to gain by participating in Honors!  First of all, the friends you make in the program are unbelievable, and the group meetings each week are a lot of fun as well.  The Honors Program strives to help you build new relationships, make the transition to college life, and enhance your college experience while you pursue academic excellence.

I’d like to tell you a little bit about my experience with Honors.  When I first heard about the Honors Program at Lock Haven University, I was probably in your shoes, a senior in high school.  What attracted me to the program was the campus involvement, social events, and academic opportunities the Honors Program presented.   Three years later, now a junior community health and physician’s assistant major, I have really started to take advantage of everything the program has to offer, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience thus far.
