What our students have to say –
“Apply now, see what you think.”
Are
your parents or teachers urging you to apply to the
Global Honors Program? Do you feel it might be more
than you want to take on? At Lock Haven, we
encourage you to put those concerns aside… at least
temporarily. Go ahead and apply. Just by applying
you will have the chance to interact with our Honors
students and find out a lot more about all that our
program has to offer. We will review your
application and make you an offer. Then you can
decide what’s right for you.
“At
first, I was scared and intimidated by the Honors title.
Looking back now at who and what I know from the Global
Honors Program, I laugh at myself. I wouldn’t change my
decision at all.”
-Autumn Riley, Senior
“I love being in the Global Honors Program here at Lock
Haven University. Yes, it did seem intimidating at
first, but I am so glad that I joined. It has turned
out to be a great opportunity, one that I am glad I
didn’t pass up. If you’re still not sure, apply anyway
and check it out. It’s worth it!”
-Tiffani Guiser, Senior
“The Global Honors Program has introduced me to a
variety of opportunities that I wouldn’t be offered as
just a regular Lock Haven student. For example, there
are numerous leadership positions available from being a
Freshman Discussion Group leader to running Public Issue
Forums. As a freshman, I was able to be a part of the
Admissions Team, a group that organizes and holds Honors
Open Houses, which would be rare at any other
university. Being a freshman, I liked how everyone was
so welcoming at Orientation and it makes it a lot easier
to meet people and make friends with your classmates and
upperclassmen. I would encourage anyone to become a
part of the Global Honors Program because it will be the
greatest experience of your academic career.”
-
Courtney Meyer, Senior
“Choosing to be a part of the Global Honors Program was
the best thing I ever could have done for myself when
making the transition into college life. I have grown
both academically and socially because of the program.
I would recommend that anyone who enjoys expanding their
horizons and challenging themselves to get involved and
try new things to consider joining. The Global Honors
Program is a great opportunity and it seems to have
endless benefits and possibilities.”
-Hannah
Stebick, Junior
“The Global Honors Program is a great way to get
involved in school. I’ve met so many of my friends from
Honors and am looking forward to being even more
involved next year.”
-Sythia
McLaughlin, Junior
“I really enjoy the Global Honors Program and cannot
imagine how different college life would be without the
opportunities it brings. It helped me make the
transition to university life much easier and most of my
best friends are people I met in Honors. The Program has
allowed me to try new things I wouldn’t have otherwise
experienced, such as an Honors Conference, and has given
me several leadership opportunities. Anyone unsure about
joining should definitely apply, because the Program
provides an abundance of opportunities, the chance to
make great friends, and will really enhance your college
experience.”
-Jessica Johnston, Junior
