First Year
Excellence (FYE) Program
The
First Year Excellence Program serves as a stepping-stone for freshmen who are
interested in becoming a part of the Lock Haven University Honors Program.
These students take FYE-designated General Education
courses their first two semesters and participate in three hours of co-curricular activities
per week. These requirements are designed to help students successfully navigate the difficult
academic transition from high school to college. After successful
completion of the FYE Program, students may be offered a position in the Honors
Program.
Successful Completion of FYE Program

Students successfully
completing all requirements of the program with a GPA of at least 3.0 will
receive a First Year Excellence certificate recognizing their
accomplishments.

Students successfully
completing all requirements of the program with at least a 3.2 GPA
will also be offered a place in the University Honors Program and the
opportunity to compete for Academic Honors Scholarship in future years.
