Important
information for applicants for Fall 2009 matriculation
Entering first-year students on the main campus may either apply to the
University Honors Program or to the First Year Excellence Program.
DEADLINES
University
Honors – Early Decision: December 5, 2008
Applications received by the deadline will be reviewed and
announcements of acceptance will be mailed by December 22, 2008. While
early acceptance or rejection of our admission and scholarship offers
will be appreciated, we will honor requests to delay final decisions
until May 1, 2009.
University
Honors – Regular Decision: April 17, 2009
Applications received by the deadline will be reviewed and
announcements of acceptance will be mailed by May 1, 2009. For those
who have submitted federal financial aid forms in a timely fashion, we
expect to include all financial aid information in this mailing.
Responses will be required by May 15, 2009.
First Year
Excellence:
Applications are considered as received and until the class is full,
usually no earlier than April 15th.
NOTE: Application
to the University Honors Program is separate from application to the
University. Be sure to submit a Lock Haven University application to
the Office of Admissions.
LOCK HAVEN
UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
Applicants to the
University Honors Program are automatically considered for merit
scholarships; no additional application for scholarships is necessary.
As many as one half of these scholarships will be offered to those
applying by the Early Decision deadline.

PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
of $2000 ($1000
per semester). These scholarships are renewable for up to four full
years. Maintaining the scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 at the
end of the first year and 3.2 at the end of the second year and
thereafter as well as continuation in the University Honors Program.

ACADEMIC HONORS SCHOLARSHIPS
of
$2000 ($1000 per semester). These are one-year scholarships. In
succeeding years, $1000 Academic Honors Scholarships will be awarded to
those honors students with the highest grade point averages.
CAMPUS
VISITS AND REQUIRED INTERVIEWS
All applicants are
urged to visit our campus. Interviews, conducted by student members of
our Admissions Team, are required for all applicants to the
University Honors and will be considered in admission
decisions. If absolutely necessary, phone interviews can be arranged.
Calls to the University Honors Program regarding visits and interviews
should be made between 8 & 12 AM, Monday through Thursday. From inside

case, ask for the Honors Center. |
