Lock Haven University Laundry Services and The Haven Dollars Account Self-Service LaundryThe Student Cooperative Council, the student government of Lock Haven University, has contracted with Equipment Marketers, Maytag and ITC Systems to provide state-of-the-art laundry machines within our residence halls. Our new energy efficient washers use 15.5 gallons of water for each load of laundry, compared with 31.5 gallons in years past. The new washers also save students money by using only 1/3 of the soap of a top loading washing machine. Maytag Energy Star-rated front-load washers and commercial dryers are available in all of our Residence Halls except Campus Village.
Haven Dollars
is the name of our vending and laundry money account service. With
Haven Dollars, all of the washers and
dryers in the laundry rooms marked with a "Y" below can be paid for by
swiping your Lock Haven University Student I.D. in a card reader located
in the laundry room. Money can be put on your Student I.D. for
laundry by visiting the
Haven Dollars website or by
visiting the
Haven Dollars kiosk in Bentley Dining
Hall, next to the ATM. This is just one more effort to make living on
campus ever more convenient for our residents.
Adding Money, Rates, and Time Delay InformationWashers and dryers can now start with a swipe of your Lock Haven University Student I.D. card. Money can be put on your Student I.D. for laundry by visiting the Haven Dollars website or by visiting the Haven Dollars kiosk in Bentley Dining Hall, next to the ATM. The standard rate for one washer cycle is $1.25 and one dryer cycle is $1.00 Quarters are still accepted by the machines. For example, if a resident would like to use additional services such as super cycle for the washer, or to add extra time to the dryers, Haven Dollars will pay for the standard cycle and then quarters must be added on the machine. When a resident uses their
Haven Dollars
to pay for a washer, the washer is automatically considered
to be "in-use" for a period of forty-five minutes to allow for
different cycle options. If the chosen
cycle is less than forty-five minutes, the washer will not be available
for use with another
Haven Dollars account until the
forty-five minutes has elapsed. The minimum amount of time on any
washing cycle is 35 minutes, so the maximum wait time will be 10
minutes.
