What Should I Bring To College?

Necessities:  

Toiletries (bath robe, shower shoes, etc.)

Bath and Hand Towels
Wash Cloths

Standard sized single bed Sheets and Pillow Cases

Blankets and Bedspread Pillow
Mattress Pad Umbrella
Mattress Bag, one that encases the entire mattress  
   
Writing Materials:  
Pens and pencils Notebooks

Writing paper, envelopes, postage stamps

Dictionary and Thesaurus
   

Electronics:

 

Laptop Computer w/Ethernet and Wireless Cards

This is a requirement for all new LHU students

RJ45 Ethernet Cord.

 
Cell phone

Student rooms do not have land line phone service

Verizon Wireless and AT&T have the best reception.

 
Internet Phone Account Suggested for those unable to bring a cell phone. 
  Skype is suggested (www.skype.com)

Additional Information

 

Rooms are not carpeted (except for Campus Village). There are many local vendors that sell carpeting if you wish to purchase it here, instead of packing it in your vehicle.

Refrigerator/microwave rental information will be sent to you through the LHU Student Cooperative Council, Inc. (SCC).  You will have the opportunity to rent a Microfridge unit.  You may choose to bring your own microwave (one strictly for warming purposes using 110 volts), and your own refrigerator (5.0 cubic foot or less)  There is a limit of 1 microwave and 1 refrigerator per room. Campus Village apartments are each equipped with a refrigerator.
 

Residents of Campus Village Apartments are encouraged to bring living room furniture for their comfort.

 

All bed mattresses are standard-length, single.
