** Roommates will be assigned to a hall/floor on the basis of the latest date of received deposit in LHUP Admissions Office. If the roommate you choose has a late deposit paid date (usually after May 1), the request may not be honored, or if the request is honored, both students may be placed in expanded (temporary) housing. I will accept a space in a temporary housing (triple) if it is the only way for me to get the Roommate Preference above. Yes No
Do you have any disabilities which could effect housing accommodations? Yes No If yes, please specify:
All LHUP residence hall rooms and common are designated as Non-Smoking. Students and guests may choose to smoke outside, while respecting other residents and Hall Council Guidelines. Even though every room will be non-smoking, there are still students who cannot tolerate a roommate who smokes at all (even outside of the halls). Please answer the following: I would be bothered by a roommate that smokes outside the halls: Yes No *An extensive review of research on roommate matching and levels of student satisfaction in colleges and universities and additional research completed on the LHUP campus indicates that matching roommates on questions such as when the student prefers to study, what type of music the student listens to, and other factors are not good predictors of roommate success. The best predictor of success is when the student chooses his/her own roommate and the University has a liberal room change policy. LHUP offers opportunities to choose roommates via this form and also during Summer Orientation. The University also allows students who are having unsolvable roommate problems to change rooms providing that there are open spaces in which to move. Please Note: Very Important Students admitted for the first time to LHUP main campus must live on-campus until they have earned 30 credit hours. Students who reside at their permanent residence within a 50 mile radius of the University’s main campus may be considered to be commuting from their permanent residence and are not required to live on campus.
All Hall, Floor and/or Roommate Preferences are honored whenever possible on a first-come, first-serve basis according to the date the Housing Deposit is received by the LHUP Admissions Office. The earlier you pay your deposit, and (if applicable) the earlier your proposed roommate pays his/her deposit, will determine how well the Student Life/Housing Office can accommodate your wishes. Not all requests can be honored. All roommate requests are to be returned to the Student Life/Housing Office, 308 Sullivan Hall, no later than July 1, 2008. There will be no roommate requests or changes to current requests honored after July 1, 2008. HOUSING LETTER WILL BE MAILED THE 2nd WEEK OF AUGUST, 2008. Please DO NOT phone the Student Life/Housing Office for any information regarding your assignment.
