Custodial Worker I

Salary: $11.66 per hour or as defined by the AFSCME CBA

Anticipated Start Date: on or about April 10, 2010
Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of a Clearfield Campus Dean, performs a variety of general cleaning and housekeeping duties at the Clearfield Branch Campus in offices, classrooms, gymnasiums and other areas on campus along with grounds responsibilities.   
Specific Duties:  
Ø Perform general housecleaning of offices, classrooms and other areas on campus;
Ø Responsible for grounds and snow removal;
Ø Maintain tile, terrazzo, and concrete floors and stairwells in all areas on campus which includes wet and dry mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and polishing using power operated equipment;
Ø Maintain immediate outside entrance areas of building including snow removal and sweeping walks;
Ø Make minor repairs to equipment, i.e. loose screws;
Ø Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:  
Ø High school diploma;
Ø At least three months of  related custodial experience;
Ø Ability to lift 50 lbs.;
Ø Basic housekeeping and repair skills;
Ø Basic reading and writing skills.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:  
Ø Knowledge of cleaning materials, machines and practices;
Ø Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in the area of work assignment;
