Greetings from the IIS Staff

The Institute for International Studies (IIS) at Lock Haven University is pleased to extend a warm welcome to all guests to our website. Here you will find information on a wide array of topics from international study opportunities, visas, health insurance, opportunites for faculty, and funding to resources in the Lock Haven area, and much more. We hope that you will find the information helpful.

The IIS was founded in 1974 as the home for international education programming at Lock Haven University.

The IIS organizes a wide rage of activities every year to advance the university’s mission in international education. 

Location

The Lock Haven University Institute for International Studies is housed at 126 Akeley Hall. Lock Haven University is located in north central Pennsylvania 200 miles from Philadelphia and 170 miles from Pittsburgh. Air service is provided by the Williamsport/ Lycoming County Airport and the University Park - Centre County Airport. Trailways bus service also passes through the town of Lock Haven.
