LHU Faculty
Lock Haven University faculty play a vital role in fulfilling the university's international mission. Whether they serve as advisors for international students, choose to become an exchange teacher at a partner institution, invite visiting international faculty into their classroom, lead students in a spring or summer study abroad program, promote international education to LHU students, or participate in the International Friendship Program, there are many opportunities to become involved and to make a difference. Faculty interested in creating a study abroad program should read the Faculty-led Program Guidelines and contact Rosana Campbell for more information
The IIS office supports active involvement of Lock Haven faculty in international activities. The office provides information and support to faculty seeking to apply for national and international grants, including Fulbright Fellowships. It also manages the IIS Short Term Travel Grant Program, which provides up to four short term travel grants for our faculty. These grants are designed to support faculty seeking the opportunity to guest lecture or conduct research at a partner university or to present a paper at a conference outside of the United States.
You can learn more about this program on the Faculty Short-Term Travel Grant page.
Opportunities for Faculty
LHU faculty can also take advantage of a number of different international opportunities. The most popular program is the IIS Short Term Faculty Travel Grant program. These provide faculty with airfare to visit one of LHU's partner universities or to present a paper at an overseas conference. Opportunities also exist for faculty to complete either short-term or semester-long exchange experiences at one of LHU's more than 30 partner universities around the world.
International Faculty
Along with international students, visiting faculty members also contribute to bring diversity to our campus. Every semester different visiting professors come to our campus to teach for a semester or full academic year. Other visiting faculty include scholars from our partner universities who participate in various programs on our campus.
