Unfortunately for 2013 we will NOT run the Italy Summer program. We are very sorry for this and aware that this is dissapointing news. We look forward to having the program in Summer 2014.
Condé Nast Traveler Magazine- Top in Europe
The Reader's Choice Awards of Condé Nast Traveler magazine lists Florence, Rome, and Venice as three of the top four cities to visit in Europe.
Come joins the LHU program as we explore all three of these award winning cities this summer. We provide the educational experience of a lifetime for a superb price. Spend a month with us in Italy for the same cost as a 11-14 day program with other programs.
Program Description
The program encompasses courses in Italian art and culture as well as courses in the studio arts such as photography or painting. Students will participate in field trips to Venice, Rome, Naples, Florence and other Italian cities. Class size is 10-15 students. This small class size allows for a great amount of individual attention in our art classes. All classes are taught in English.
When
During LHUP Summer Session I, 2011
Location
The city of Cassino is located in the Italian region of Lazio, halfway between Rome and Naples. This a prime location and enables us to easily take travel to Rome, Florence, Naples and other Italian cities. Nearby is the Reggia of Caserta, (Royal Palace of Caserta). The Mediterranean sea is only about 40 minutes away with popular beaches and towns of Sperlonga and Gaeta in close proximity. The well known abbey of Montecassino is here, as well as an archeological museum which houses sculpture and objects created by the ancient Romans. Next to the museum rests an ancient Roman amphitheater.
Cassino is also an ideal location in which to learn Italian. It is a small enough town not to be overrun with tourists. This is highly beneficial in that it allows the students to see Italian life less influenced by outsiders, and it encourages the students to develop their Italian language skills in the friendly environment.

Courses Offered
Each student must enroll in two courses.
Value
Few if any programs offer a better value than the LHUP Study Abroad Italy program. Students stay in nice 3 star hotels and numerous field trips are included in the cost of our program. Students visit Rome, Florence, Venice and other Italian cities. Some programs house students in quadruples (4 students per room). We strive to place students in doubles. This allows our students to concentrate on their studies and experience the best of Italy.
Costs
Like all LHU International summer programs, costs include a program fee, tuition and airfare.
Program fee covers lodging, field trips (transportation and all museum entrance fees on field trips and some meals).
The program fee is divided into two payments of $800 and $1700. The dues dates are as follows:
