Each student is responsible for completing all course requirements and for keeping up with all activities of the course (whether a student is present or not).

Mini Tests
There will be 7 mini tests following a schedule that will be provided on the course web page.
The lowest 2 will be dropped. There will be no make-up mini tests. Any missed will count towards the lowest 2 being dropped.
The material to be covered will be announced in class.
Tests will take 25 minutes. Tests will be based on homework and in-class notes and examples, and examples from the book.

The tests are closed book. Equation sheets will be provided during exams and will be available for review prior to exams. The specific material covered on a given test will depend on the material covered in class and will be announced before the test.

Final Exam
The final exam date is listed on the course calendar. The final will be cumulative.


Calculators are required for lab and tests. A basic scientific calculator will do. That is, a calculator with trig functions, basic statistics, etc.

There may be times when calculators are not allowed. If this is to be the case you will be forewarned.


Pesonal Electronics You are expected to behave professionally and respect your peers and the instructor while in lecture and lab. Turn off all personal electronics while in lecture and lab. If you have an emergency to deal with, notify the instructor before class.

Other than a scientific calculator, you will not be allowed to use personal electroncis for calculations.


Homework
Homework is essential to understanding this material.

Some homework will be assigned each class and collected the following class and graded. Some online homework will be assigned. Grading will be automatic. (See the section below on WebAssign.)

Late Homework
Homework that is being handed in, is due at the beginning of class on the date it is due. (For example, if it is assigned on Monday, it is due at the beginning of class on Wednesday.) Late homework will result in a penalty of 50% for each day late.

WebAssign homework will have a due date that is indicated on the WebAssign web site.


WebAssign
You are required to use an online homework product called WebAssign. To gain access to WebAssign you must purchase a Web Assign access card online. See the course web page for more details.

With WebAssign you will log on to the WebAssign website and access problems assigned by the instructor. Grading will be automatic and immediate for most assignments. Please see the course web page for more details.


Lab

Calculators are required for lab.
Graph paper is required for lab.

You are expcected to read the lab manual before lab period. There will be pre-lab quizes given at the beginning of lab period. These will be based on the write-up in the lab manual.

Late Labs
Unless otherwise stated, labs are due at the beginning of the lab period one week following the lab when the work is done. That is, you have 1 week to write-up your lab reports. Lab scores will be reduced by 20% for every day late.

There will be no make-up labs.

The lowest lab grade will be dropped.
