The tests are closed book. Equation sheets will be provided during exams and will be available for review prior to exams. The specific material covered on a given test will depend on the material covered in class and will be announced before the test.
Final Exam
The final exam date is listed on the course calendar.
The final will be cumulative.
There may be times when calculators are not allowed. If this is to be the case you will be forewarned.
Other than a scientific calculator, you will not be allowed to use personal electroncis for calculations.
Some homework will be assigned each class and collected the following class and graded. Some online homework will be assigned. Grading will be automatic. (See the section below on WebAssign.)
Late Homework
Homework that is being handed in, is due at the beginning of class on the date it is due. (For example, if it is
assigned on Monday, it is due at the beginning of class on Wednesday.) Late homework will
result in a penalty of 50% for each day late.
WebAssign homework will have a due date that is indicated on the WebAssign web site.
With WebAssign you will log on to the WebAssign website and access problems assigned by the instructor. Grading will be automatic and immediate for most assignments. Please see the course web page for more details.
Calculators are required for lab.
Graph paper is required for lab.
You are expcected to read the lab manual before lab period. There will be pre-lab quizes given at
the beginning of lab period. These will be based on
the write-up in the lab manual.
Formal Lab
There will be one "Formal Lab". This semester. This format for this lab will be provided.
You will submit a first and second draft for grading. The two grades will be averaged.
This formal lab is required and cannot be dropped.
Late Labs
Unless otherwise stated, labs are due at the beginning of the lab period one week following the lab when
the work is done. That is, you have 1 week to write-up your lab reports. Lab scores will be reduced by 20% for every day late.
There will be no make-up labs.
The lowest lab grade will be dropped.
