Course Description:
An intermediate course in Newtonian mechanics with emphasis on mathematical principles and methods. Topics include variational calculus and applied to Legrangian and Hamiltonian methods, applications of Legrangian mechanics such as central force motion, oscillations and coupled oscillations.
GRADING: Homework 20%
  Tests 80%

Tests
There will 4 tests during the semester. Format for the tests will be discussed in class.
Homework
Homework will be given regularly. Homework is essential to understanding the course mateial. Homework problems will be worth 10 points each, unless otherwise stated by the instructor.
