Meeting called to order at 6:33 PM.
Reminder to make sure everyone involved in the club must sign the liability waiver.
Brain Buster: If you were blindfolded and placed in front of a large bowl containing $50, $20, $10, and $5 bills, and you were allowed to take one bill at a time until you have taken four bills of the same denomination. What would be the largest amount of money you could draw?
Update on PCTM and Bloomsburg conferences—let Brian know if you are interested and haven’t expressed interest before.
Treasurer’s Report: $910
Hershey Park-Oct. 25th. We need at least 20 people. If you are interested in going and haven’t expressed interest, let Brian know before Oct. 11.
Intramural Volleyball—we have a team, if anyone is interested in joining let Brian know. The schedules will be emailed soon.
T-shirts: We got a good price. Around $8. Bring ideas next meeting on top 10 reasons why to be a math major. We will decide on the top 10 and color of shirt.
Major Fair-Tomorrow 11-2. If you can help out, let Brian know ASAP.
Math Competition: Oct. 30th. Starts at 9. Help will be needed.
The ThinkFast game show is on campus Thursday September 25th. We can do a quiz bowl some time this semester as a fundraiser so be thinking about ideas.
Problem Solving Competition: Located on bulletin board in math hall. Come up with answer to question and submit to Math Club mailbox. If you get it right, you will have a chance to win a trip to Oregon for a math competition!
Prime Bowling: Varied rules for scoring. If you get a prime number of pins you get more points. Brian has all the rules. We can set up a date to go bowling.
Hunger Bowl: Collect canned foods. More info to come.
Free Pizza will be at next meeting, Sept. 30th. We will also be taking a math club photo!
Solution to Brain Buster: $305. You could take 3-$50’s, 3-$20’s, 3-$10’s, and 3-$5’s and the last bill would be another $50 bill.
