Meeting called to order at 5:05PM
The budget appeal for next year was approved resulting in an overall total of $1, 357.
April 3. Sleep out for literacy begins at 4PM. There will be games, activities, food, and fun. Donations of books to be given to the Ross Library will be collected at the next meeting. Please stop down and see us from 4pm, April 3rd to 10am on April 4th.
Autism walk- April 4. You can support the math club group by making a donation to the Autism society in honor of our walkers by going to HavenConnection and clicking on the Autism Walk under events.
Children’s Festival – We have four tables reserved for this event. We need help setting up and running the booth. If you can volunteer some of your time to help kids explore mathematics please e-mail Brian at brandall@lhup.edu
Dr. Rosson will given a presentation on Tuesday, April 7th at 1:00 in Robi 419. What is the area of the largest circle that can be inscribed between the graphs of f(x)=x^2 and g(x)=x^3 on the closed interval [0,1]? This problem was proposed by one of Abey's students. John Rosson has developed a beautiful Mathematica notebook which solves the problem to a high degree of precision. The notebook also contains stunning visual images related to the solution.
Knot Theory Conference: July 15 – 17 in Ohio. No registration fee and there is grant money for travel. Overnight stay would be only cost. Let Dr. Pile know if you are interested.
Positions in the math club will be open in the fall. Please e-mail Brian at brandall@lhup.edu if you are interested in accepting a position.
