La Menina II is a 24-element bronze sculpture of St. Agathe who had her breasts amputated by the Roman emperor Decius. Five of the eight elements comprising the head can be reassembled to form breasts; the three remaining elements of the head can be stored in a compartment underneath the dress. Additionally, another Berrocal sculpture, Portrait de Michéle, can be used as a head when breasts have been assembled in this manner. Portrait de Michéle can also be stored in the compartment if desired. |
