Program Description
The program began in 2000, when 11 students traveled to London with Professor Michael Collins of Bloomsburg University and Dr. Stephen Hicks of Lock Haven University. Students and faculty members from California University have joined the program for the last several years. The program is designed for any major, with the courses fulfilling General-Education requirements (based on the Lock Haven catalog). The focus of the program is the theatrical experience in London: students can experience the plays they read and study. The program includes an English course devoted to the plays of William Shakespeare and a Theatre course that surveys contemporary plays in London. Students and faculty attend ten to twelve plays together. The program is cost-friendly, but it also provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
