Welcome to the Stevenson Library Study Guide to the Investigative Essay!
We have constructed this site to help you get started on completing your assignment. All sources listed in the study guide are available right here in Stevenson Library or through one of the databases accessible via the library homepage. The site contains links to basic information about the Stevenson online catalog (PILOT); databases such as EBSCOhost and Academic OneFile; general reference materials; and more.
Remember, the information you will find on the links to the left is not exhaustive; it simply provides you with a few samples of the types of resources you may wish to consult when completing your assignment. For example, in addition to the general reference titles highlighted, your area of interest may have its own sources geared to more precise information needs, such as subject-specific encyclopedias. In any case, a great way to start is to begin clicking on the links to the left. Also, please keep in mind that the librarians at Stevenson are available to help you find relevant resources. You can set up an appointment with one of us, or for immediate questions you can usually find an on-duty librarian at the Reference Services desk on the main floor. Thanks and good luck with your research!
