In 1970, the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation is established. Also, the Lock Haven State College celebrates its centennial anniversary, 1870-1970.

One year earlier, in 1969, Stevenson Library is completed. That same year, Women's lacrosse is introduced at Lock Haven.

In September 1970, Richard T. Parsons retired as the school's tenth president.
