Stevenson Library shelves its books according to the Library of Congress Classification System. This alpha-numeric classification system is essentially an encoded expression of the main subject of the book, followed by a second alpha-numeric code indicating the book’s author and/or title. Listed below are several sections of the library (both in the Reference Area and on the 2 nd floor of the Main Stacks) that you might want to browse:

F = U.S. Regional, Canada, & Latin America

H = Social Sciences

J = Political Science
