| Exhibit and Display Policy
Stevenson Library provides space on the First floor (24 hour study lounge display cases) for exhibitions created by Library staff and the Lock Haven University community for the exhibit of educational, cultural, intellectual and aesthetic materials. This policy reflects the belief that Stevenson Library serves an important cultural role and encourages proposals for exhibits in keeping with the Library's function as an educational force in the community.
These exhibition spaces are available to faculty, staff, departments, and programs of the University. Student exhibits must have the sponsorship of a University department. All individuals interested in submitting a proposal are encouraged to contact Gwen Perrin.
All proposals must be in writing.
Proposals for exhibits are reviewed for eligibility requirements and such additional factors as educational content and appropriateness to the University's mission.
Exhibits are scheduled throughout the year and run one month. Stevenson Library's Exhibition calendar is planned at least one semester in advance. Exhibition spaces are scheduled with Gwen Perrin, the Assistant to the Dean of Library and Information Services, and are assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
Stevenson Library reserves the right to decline any proposals found questionable for reasons of artistic refinement or limited redeeming cultural or educational value.
In the event that a question may arise as to the eligibility of any organization or individual requesting the use of the exhibition area(s), the Dean of Library and Information Services will be consulted and will make the final determination of eligibility.
Exhibit Areas Available
The display area is restricted to 2 double-sided glass exhibit cases located between Stevenson Library's reception area and the 24 hour study lounge. Items that are part of the exhibit can not be hung on the walls of the reception area or study lounge. Preferred objects for display in the cases are books, flat works in paper or other media, and small to medium sized 3-dimensional objects.
Scheduling of Exhibition Area
All exhibit scheduling is coordinated by Gwen Perrin, Assistant to the Dean of Library and Information Services. Please outline the type of exhibit and the desired dates of the exhibit.
Responsibility for Installation and Liability
Responsibility for setting up and dismantling exhibits lies with the exhibitor. The exhibitor will provide all supplies and materials.
As a condition of the display, the Library assumes no responsibility for the loss of, or damages to, exhibited materials.
