Literary Criticism describes, interprets and evaluates literary works, such as novels, drama, poetry and short stories. You may also use literary criticism to describe the methods or the principles used to examine literature.

• Literary Criticism points to the heart of a subject or topic, especially its controversies
• Literary Criticism can generate multiple plausible answers, perspectives, and research directions
• Literary Criticism casts old knowledge, ideas, and texts in a new light
• Literary Criticism facilitates the art of “discovery,” which is what research is really all about!
