Paid To Learn

You will have the opportunity to work beside Dr. Khalequzzaman at Lock Haven University to collect and research samples of water to study the water quality throughout Pennsylvania and its water systems while attending school.

This is a PAID researching job that will allow you to earn a college degree and real world experience. 

Dr. K and The Water Quality Projects

Dr. K is a hydro geologist, which means he studies water quality and the effects our changing environment can have on it, and is in dire need of committed individuals to help him with his sampling. For you, this means money. You will be paid to collect and research samples while you attend Lock Haven University to learn and gain a degree. Are there any other schools that can say that they pay their students to learn?

Marcellus Shale Hydrofracking

Marcellus Shale Hydrofracking is a booming business in Pennsylvania. The problem is we need trained individuals to help support our water quality, or the quality of life on earth will deteriorate! Steven Cornia, an assistant of Dr. K,  has helped perform water quality testing for the Hall Run and Beech Creek watersheds. This young man dedicated his time to save the natural beauty and resources in Pennsylvania from vanishing. Steven Cornia is a LEADER.

Acid Mine Drainage

Acid Mine Drainage is polluting our water systems as we speak. To filter the water, it takes millions of dollars and many years. Donald Gentzyel, another assistant of Dr. K’s was a key ASSET to the PA DEP BAMR Abandoned Mine Land Reclamation Project. He surveyed the water levels of the million dollar filtering ponds and found that the construction was not up to adequacy. His findings changed the understanding of the facility, along with the way our tax dollars are being spent. Donald Gentzyel is a LEADER.

Current/Future Plans

Gabriel Murtoff who is a part of this very important team has given us inside information during an interview of what they are also working on and plan to work on in the near future.

"We are currently working on monitoring the Hall Run watershed over in South Renovo, also we are working with a passive AMD(Acid Mine Drainage) treatment center to help clean up some AMD contamination in the Susquehanna, additionally we will continue doing water quality testing in most agricultural water sheds in the area."

Dr. K's Thoughts 

Dr. K exhibits an extreme sense of pride in what he and his team are doing for our area. The research will not only benefit Clinton county but the entire world. This is a worldwide issue and one that needs to be attended to. The fastest and most effective way to become a part of the research is to be a part of Lock Haven University's extensive hands-on water sampling research by joining Dr. K and his team.
