Math Placement Test - Interpreting Your Results

The results of the test are given as four numbers in four different categories, one for each section of the placement test. Which mathematics course you take should be dependent on your major, so if you are given many options it does not mean that you need to take all of those courses. You should choose the course most appropriate for you major. The scores are interpreted as follows:

Test Categories Eligible Courses
If your score in Category 1 is less than 9

  Math 009: Basic Algebra

If your score in Category 2 is less than 9
  Math 100: Essential of Algebra
  Math 101: Topics in Mathematics
  Math 110: Consumer Mathematics 

If your scores in Categories 1 and 2 are both greater than or equal to 9
  Math 101: Topics in Mathematics
  Math 102: Number Systems
  Math 107: Basic Statistics I
  Math 110: Consumer Mathematics
  Math 112: Intermediate Algebra
  Math 215: Statistics and Geometry
 
If your scores in Categories 1, 2, and 3 are all greater than or equal to 9
  Math 101: Topics in Mathematics
  Math 102: Number Systems
  Math 107: Basic Statistics I
  Math 110: Consumer Mathematics
  Math 112: Intermediate Algebra
