Classroom Safety and Welfare

The Laboratory Safety Institute (LSI) is a non-profit, international educational organization for health, safety and environmental affairs.  The Institute's mission is to make health and safety an integral and important part of science education, our work, and our lives. There are a number of free documents available including student safety contracts, lab safety inspection checklists, and other miscellaneous documents.

NSTA Position Statement on Guidelines for Responsible Use of Animals in the Classroom

This is a link to The Institute for Laboratory Animal Research (ILAR). ILAR prepares authoritative reports on subjects of importance to the animal care and use community; develops and makes available scientific and technical information on laboratory animals and other biological research resources. Of particular importance are their Resources for Science Educators and Students.

Kids 4 Research provides information to students, teachers, and parents on responsible laboratory animal care and use in biomedical research, testing, and education. Of particular interest is the Caring for Animals in the Classroom Website.
