About Me

Hi there! I go by Khaleq (most of my students call me Dr. K).
Thank you for checking out my homepage. I originally come from

Bangladesh , a South Asian country. I studied at Azerbaijan Petroleum Institute in Baku (formerly U.S.S.R) for my undergraduate degree in Geology/Geophysics. I did both my M.S. and Ph.D. in geology at the University of Delaware . I joined Lock Haven University as an assistant professor in the Fall of 1997, then I accepted a faculty position at Georgia Southwestern State University in the Fall of 1998.  I returned back to Lock Haven University in the fall of 2001, and was promoted to Full Professor rank in 2009.  My interests in geology include coastal environmental oceanography , hydrogeology , aqueous environmental geochemistry , and GIS .

I love to travel, read, and
learn about other cultures.  Occasionally, I play chess with my son Lenu and most of the time lose miserably ;>
