Report

  1. Turn in any samples in properly labeled vials.
  2. Turn in the yellow pages for the experiment. Be sure the safety table is included.
  3. Turn in data tables for the starting materials and products for the two reactions.
  4. Write a mechanism for the rearrangement.
  5. Analyze in a table the IR for the products of the photoreduction and the rearrangement. Remember that the actual IR stays in your notebook.
  6. Write a brief, typed paper (2-4 paragraphs) in which you compare the results you obtained in the two test tubes. Make sure you read your paper before you turn it in to check for spelling, grammar and consistency.
  7. Include an analysis of the IR for the photoreduction and the rearrangement.
