My schedule for Spring 2008 | |
|
Teaching: The course PHYS101: Matter and Energy I am teaching in the Spring semester of 2008 consists of set of lectures and laboratory exercises and fulfills the general education requirements at LHUP. It is supported by an electronic companion giving the students full 24/7 access to the lecture notes, homework, grades, and other useful materials. My goal is to establish continuous learning environment for the students, to form understanding of the basic physical concepts of energy generation and consumption, and to develop their practical skills in performing basic physical measurements. Another course I teach during the Spring of 2008 is PHYS290: Electronics mainly for physics and engineering student, although I had chemistry students succeeding well in it. We lay out the basics of the electronic circuits, get experienced with putting together and measuring them, and finish with a individualized practical project. Recommended textbook is "Basic Engineering Circuit Analysis" by J. David Irwin and R. Mark Nelms.
