My schedule for Fall 2009 | |
|
Teaching: I teach PHYS171: Intermediate General Physics 1 in the Fall semester of 2009. This is a calculus based introductory course in Physics required for students majoring in Physics, Engineering, and Chemistry. Other majors can also take it as part of their general education program in science. The textbook for this course is "University Physics with Modern Physics with MasteringPhysics™", 12th edition by Hugh D. Young and Roger A. Freedman. Another course I teach during each Spring semester is PHYS290: Electronics mainly for physics and engineering student, although I had chemistry students succeeding well in it. We lay out the basics of the electronic circuits, get experienced with putting together and measuring them, and finish with an individualized practical project. Recommended textbook is "Basic Engineering Circuit Analysis" by J. David Irwin and R. Mark Nelms. The course PHYS101: Matter and Energy consists of set of lectures and laboratory exercises and fulfills the general education requirements at LHUP. I teach one lab section in the Spring semester of 2009.
