Associate of Applied Science: Nanotechnology
Program Overview
This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nanotechnology to be completed in 2 years & a summer. During this period the students will take courses and labs at LHU and will spend one semester at Pennsylvania State University. This semester is for 18 credits at the state-of-the-art $30 million Nanofabrication Center at PSU. The difference in tuition between LHU and PSU for this semester is paid by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The graduates of this program can pursue and complete a B.S. degree in Biology, Biology/Chemistry, Computer Science, Chemistry, Geology or Physics in two more years as the core content of the program articulates with these four year programs.
Career Opportunities
Nanotechnology is currently being applied in a wide range of industries. Today, there is a demand for skilled scientists, engineers, and technicians who understand the principles of nanotechnology and the instruments and techniques of nanofabrication. Many industries require workers with basic skills in nanotechnology, as well as technicians who understand the tools and processes of nanotechnology and have a solid grounding in science and mathematics.
